Something different

I did not realize how long it had been since I last posted something.  It has been a busy summer.  Went to Cabo with family for some down time which seems like forever ago.  Just got back from San Francisco after a weekend in wine country with my mother and daughters.  Very nice weekend especially since the weather had been so hot.

Have been looking forward to fall this year. I have started making things for Halloween.  My daughter keeps telling me it is to soon.  She has already put her name on some of the things I am making, so it must not be to soon.

Here are some of the decorative mesh wreaths I have done.  I have so much fun making these.  Now that I have it figured out I am going to try to make ones for the football season.  Yes, it is a little backwards since I should have done those first.

Would like to find some witches legs that are different but having a hard time finding any that I like for this wreath.  Yes my daughter was quick to point out that I was using a christmas wreath holder.

Loved the purple spider wreath that I found for this one.

Mini Card

Have been trying the swaps on splitcoaststampers.com.  This was for a mini card swap.

The card is made using real red card stock.  Cut out the center using the heart punch from stampin up and the scallop border was cut using a punch as well.  Designer paper was from Hobby Lobby.  Then a black bow as tied on the bottom of the heart.   Inside of the card was lined using white cardstock.  Size of card is 3 x 3.

Chipboard Journal

I have had a request from some members of the stamp group about what to do with chipboard.  One of the group bought this small book but needed to know what she could do with the book.  I looked at several books online and came up with this design.  The paper came from Hobby Lobby.  The book was painted cream with acrylic craft paint.  Once it dried I glued a piece of paper 5 x 4.75.  I then cut a vanilla piece of cardstock using the square spellbinders die cut.  I used scrap pieces of ribbon to tie on the spiral.  Love how it came out.

Wedding Glitz

Wedding season is here again.   It has been fun watching my daughters friends grow up and get married.  I can still remember when they were all running around together in high school.  Now they have graduated from college and beginning their lives.

I made this card to use in a stamping class.  Found it on splitcoaststamper.com and had to try and duplicate.  I used glitter paper, silver brushed paper, organza ribbon, heart punch and the heart embossing folder.  The card was cut using the movers and shapers set from stampin up.

Mixed Bunch

It has been a while since I have had a chance to post anything.  Have been busy with projects around the house.  Found some time to organize a few cards for the monthly class.  Cased a few cards from splitcoaststampers.com unfortunately can not remember who originally designed the card.

Paper used was Stampin up Sweet Treat.  Color used was poppy parade.  Stamp sets is mixed bunch and the matching punch - Blossom.  The other punch used has retired.  This card was very easy to make and can be used for any occasion.

Wedding Cake

This is a Stamping Bella stamp "Lulu's Wedding Cake".    Lots of friends have weddings coming up in the next few months.  Thought I would get a head start.  Also used this as part of the Glitter and Glitz swap I participated in on Splitcoaststampers.

Used So Saffron, whisper white and real red card stock to make the card.  I stamped the design on vellum and then colored it in using apricot appeal and then outlined the lines.  Leaves are done with certainly celery.  Flowers are colored using calypso coral and real red.  I used dazzling details to add the glitter details that look like dots.

Tall Snowman

Another snowman card for Christmas swap.  Used designer papers from last years catalog.  Crumb cake and real red cardstock.  Adorning Accents framelits used for the middle.  Christmas cards are so much fun and the colors are bright.

Polka Dot Snowman

Did this for a swap for Christmas.  Trying to get a jump on that crazy time of the year.  The DS paper used for this card is no longer available through stampin up but loved it.  The cardstock is real red and the ribbon is grosgrain real red as well.  Used the dazzling diamonds on the snowman.  The square is cut using the spellbinders die cut.

Saw this stamp set used on the splitcoaststamper and had to get it to make some cards.  I used pool party, espresso and whisper white cardstock.  I stamped the balloons using my stampin up markers: pool party, wisteria and indigo.  I then cut them out around the balloon and adhered to the white cardstock using stamping dimensionals.  The bird and cloud stamp is part of the set

Designer Bunny

Time for Easter Cards.    Saw this stamp set (Everybunny) last week and thought she would be fun.  Used my water color pencils and blender pen to shade her in then outlined her dress with the calypso coral marker.  Paper is the Everyday Enchantment designer paper and ribbon brad pack from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  Used the Calypso Coral paper and pool party.  Cut out a piece of calypso coral using the labels collection and then used the oval framelit to emboss the pool party paper before using a spellbinder oval die to cut out the background for the bunny.  The bunny is stamped on very vanilla paper.  The edges are cut using the edgelits dies.  I actually cut the designer paper to the size I wanted then lined it up with the edge of the top of the card and ran them both through the big shot so the scallops would line up when it was assembled.  The inside has the same scalloped edge cut out of very vanilla paper.

Polka Dot Butterfly

I got the Sweet Shop designer paper from the Occasions mini and had to find a way to use the purple polka dot paper.  Used the blushing bride paper as one of the layers as well as the butterfly base.  The ribbon come already pleated and is also the blushing bride ribbon.  Saw the butterfly with vellum on the top on splitcoaststamper.com.  I then used the score pad to put the design on the whisper white paper.  Then used the pearls at the intersections.  I figure I can use the card for any occasion so opted not to put any sentiment on the front until I decide how to use.

Bella Birthday

Love Stamping Bella stamps.  Made this card for one of my daughters sorority sisters.  Her favorite color is red.  Used Real red for the card then silver glitter paper.  Stamped image on whisper white.  Used real red, poppy parade and red riding hood on the dress.  Dazzling diamonds on the skirt ruffle.  The bag is done with pool parade and lilac.  The packages where done using  the same color markers.  Once the red package was done added pearls to the package and the bust of the dress.  Don't know if you can see but there is also a pearl on the shoe.

Heart to Heart

Here is my take on a picture from the January stampin success.  I wanted something that could still be hung after valentine day.  Instead of using valentine paper I used Beau Chateau.  I then used the new heart framelits.  Then the little hearts are cut using the fashionable hearts embosslits.  The background is confetti white cut into an 8 x 8 square.  The bow on the smaller heart is marine mist 1/4 inch grosgrain.

Purse favor

This is a purse made from the top note die cut.  Could not find the pattern I saw on splitcoaststamper so this is my version.  The color used is the concord crush and glitter paper.

Bridal Shower Invites

Trying to decide which card to use for a bridal shower.  Got a cricut for christmas and this gave me the opportunity to play a little.  Her colors are green, purple and silver.  Used the concord crush, glitter paper, white, and pear pizzazz.  My favorite is the cake invitation.

Fancy Hearts

Made this card after seeing the hearts on Valitas design blog.  Had to try to make and thought it was fun. Going to make them this month.  Will post the directions a little later today when I sit down again to play.

Here is a link to Valita's Design website http://valitasfreshfolds.blogspot.com/2011/01/valentine-heart-punch-couple.html   There is a tutorial on how to make the hearts on this card.  The Card is cut from Cherry Cobbler cardstock and the top note is cut out of white paper      using the top note die cut.  The background behind the hearts is cut using a sizzix label die cut out of glitter paper.  The ribbon is cherry cobbler seam binding.  Stamp set on decorative label punch using the You are loved stamp set.

First Card of New Year

Finally have gotten all the christmas decoration put away and cleaning done.  Love Christmas but hate the clean up.  Happy New Year to everyone.  Spent some time playing yesterday getting ideas for the monthly stamp group.  Love the new framelits from Stamping Up.  Used it for several projects.

This easel card is my first attempt with this technique, it came out better then expected.  The Card is cut using the largest framelit.  The inner heart on the front is cut out using the third largest heart in the set.

After cutting out that heart I lined it with pink pleated satin ribbon so it sticks out through opening.   I then cut two hearts like the one used on the inside using the second heart.

One was used on the base and the other was for the back of the top and stamped the Love on it and attached to back of top piece.

The love stamp comes from the Outlined Occasions stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  The Card Stock  and ink color are Cherry Cobbler.  The small hearts are cut out of the red glitter paper.  Haven't decided on the phrase for the inside yet.
